Kushti is a traditional form of wrestling popular across India, Pakistan and South-East Asia. It takes place on an area of wet earth or sand.
Traditionally bouts lasts between 1 to 10 minutes with the winner being declared only when one of the opponents submits or their full back is held to the floor.
The Indo Pak Kushti Championship rounds last on average between 15 to 20 minutes as elite professionals battle until one submits or their back is held fully on the floor as in traditional competitions.
The Indo-Pak Kushti Wrestling Championship is a series of tournaments held on the same day between the two great Kushti nations India and Pakistan. Indian and Pakistani wrestlers compete to crown the ultimate champions.
The event combines 3 tournaments: Kushti UAE Cup, Kushti International Bowl and the Indo-Pak Kushti Championship.
The top 10 Kushti wrestlers from India and the top 10 from Pakistan will compete in pools for the chance to win in two international tournaments culminating in the ultimate crowning of the Indo- Pak Kushti Champion. Additionally, invited Indian and Pakistan wrestlers based in the UAE will compete, popular local heroes who already have a huge following.
The Indo-Pak Kushti Wrestling Championship will take place Friday 30th November 2018 at Hamdan Sports Complex Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Tickets can be purchased online through Platinumlist https://dubai.platinumlist.net/en/. There will be tickets available to purchase on the day at the venue.
Children under 5 years get in free with a parent or guardian. Children aged 5 and over will need a valid ticket for entry.
Doors open 2 pm and the championship starts at 4 pm. Please arrive in plenty of time to be seated before the tournament starts.
The last bout will end 10 pm followed by presentations and the awards ceremony.
There is ample parking with space for over 10,000 cars. Parking is free.
